What time of year is Disney World most affordable?

May 15, 2019 | Gina Schuetter

Any time you can visit the Mouse is a good time, in my opinion. That being said, there are times of the year that are better than others because of special activities, weather, and lower crowd and expense levels.

Before I dive in, it's worth noting that this information is based off of past experiences and is not guaranteed for the future. One thing to note is that you should take advantage of any promotions as Disney releases them. Any Disney Vacation Planner can assist with identifying new promotions.

If you are looking for low crowd levels and low expenses, check out mid-January to mid-February and September. The weather is nice during these months, too. January and February temperatures usually settle in the 50s-70s (Fahrenheit), and September is usually in the 70s-80s (Fahrenheit) range.

Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts takes place in January and February and there are always interesting and innovating art pieces and entertainment.

September would be my pick if you can swing it. Not only is the weather pleasant and the crowds low, but you can also enjoy Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival runs from August-November and allows you to eat and drink your way around, sampling each country’s signature dishes and beverages.

During the Halloween party, children are encouraged to dress-up and trick-or-treat at various locations within the Magic Kingdom.

Any time you get to go to Disney is going to be a great time, but mid-January to mid-February and September are our favorite times to visit!
